Robert Glenn Ketchum

Two possible Choices for the Future 1984 2

From the series: The Hudson River and the Highlands

Six original silver dye-beach (Cibachrome) prints

In these photographs, the bright reds and greens of the natural world are contrasted with the dull colors of bare trees and dirt carparks.

Ketchum uses publication as a form of environmentalism:

"lt was also Eliot Porter's Glen Canyon book where I saw the conjunction of politics and pictures.

The essay was bitter about the drowning of the canyon, and I could see how using a publication in an aggressive way could be

a VERY useful tool for environmental advocacy." - Robert Glenn Ketchum
